CloudBerry Backup and Explorer Now Support Google Cloud’s London Region

CloudBerry Explorer for Google Cloud and CloudBerry solution for Google Cloud backup have been updated to include the support for Google Cloud's London region.

Support for Google's Cloud London Region

From now on you can select London as your Google region of choice in CloudBerry Backup 5.6.2 and CloudBerry Explorer 3.3.3 for Google Cloud. The region can be specified when creating a new Google Cloud bucket. Let us show you how you can do that within both products.

Creating a new London bucket in CloudBerry Backup

To create a new London bucket in CloudBerry Backup 5.6.2, simply add a new Google Cloud account. Enter your credentials and expand the Bucket name drop-down menu.

Click Create New Bucket.

In the appeared window, enter the required bucket name (lowercase letters only), specify the storage class, location, and regional location (London in our case).

That's it! Now your Google backup destination will link to the newly created bucket, and all future backups will be uploaded there.

Creating a new London bucket in CloudBerry Explorer 3.3.3 for Google  Cloud

The process of creating a new London bucket in CloudBerry Explorer 3.3.3 for Google Cloud is almost identical to that of CloudBerry Backup. Just bear in mind that you cannot authenticate via access & secret key, as Google forbids bucket creation under that authentication method. Now let's create the bucket. Click on the little blue-cube icon on the toolbar.

In the appeared window, enter the required bucket name (lowercase letters only), specify the storage class, location, and regional location (London in our case).

There you go. Now you can open the bucket via Explorer and perform the regular operations like copying, drag-and-dropping, and so forth.

In the near future we plan to bring the novelty to the rest of our product line-up, so stay tuned for that!
