Automatic Cleanup for Bare Metal and System State in MSP360 Backup
MSP360 Backup for Windows Server now supports purge for System state and Bare Metal backup plans. Purge is a feature of MSP360 Backup that allows enabling automatic deletion of outdated data. Once you set up a purge for a backup plan, MSP360 Backup will keep only actual versions of your backup data in the storage and automatically delete outdated versions.

System State and Bare Metal are always backed up in full – block-level backup is not supported for these types of backup data due to technical reasons.
You can set one of the following conditions for purge or use them both at the same time:
Age of version – all file versions older than a value you specify will be deleted.
Number of versions – only the number of latest versions you specify will be kept, others will be deleted.

If you select to use both of purge options, a purge will be activated according to a first event that happens. If version is outdated by the age it will be deleted even if there are fewer versions than is specified in the number of versions field. And even not outdated by the age version of file will be deleted if there are more versions than is specified in the number of versions field.
With the latest enhancements MSP360 Backup makes System State and Bare Metal backup more convenient and cost-efficient. This feature allows keeping cloud storage clean of outdated backups with no need for any actions from the user. Also it helps to reduce usage of the storage space and respectively allows saving funds on storage.
