Upload and Download Performance

Our performance testing was based on upload and download speeds with three sample data sets: small, medium, and large. The small specimen contained 10'000 1-kilobyte text files to evaluate the capacity to handle sizeable volumes of small files. The medium data set represents files ranging from 4 to 15 megabytes (2.32 GB in total). Finally, the large set is comprised of files up to 2 GB (4.97 GB in total).

The tests were conducted using CloudBerry Backup and a variable number of threads (1, 10, 25, and 50). The goal was to identify which cloud storage service takes the least amount of time to complete the upload and download process while determining the impact of multi-threading.

A key finding here was the advantage of using 25 threads, as opposed to 50. CloudBerry Backup enables you to vary the number of threads, fine-tuning the upload process to achieve the best performance.  Our tests showed that the best speeds across all cloud drives and files sizes were achieved with 25 threads for both uploads and downloads.
