CloudBerry Lab Announces CloudBerry Backup Integration
with AWS Snowball

Integration Makes It Easier, Faster Than Ever Before for CloudBerry Users to Leverage Amazon Web Services for Backup

Aliso Viejo, CA - February 25, 2016, 10 a.m. EST CloudBerry Lab™ , a leader in cloud-based backup and file management services for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), has announced their CloudBerry Backup Server Edition product now integrates with AWS Snowball, a petabyte-scale data transport appliance that can securely transfer 50 TB per appliance of data into and out of Amazon Web Services (AWS). CloudBerry Lab customers can start taking advantage of cloud-based backup immediately, without the challenge of porting vast amounts of data over the internet.

“Fueled by affordable bandwidth and capacity optimization technologies, cloud-based backup is becoming a popular alternative to portable backup media,” says Alexey Serkov, CTO at CloudBerry Lab. “However, depending on the total capacity of data, the first full backup can be time-consuming and cause problems for production systems. By integrating CloudBerry Backup with AWS Snowball, we are validating our commitment to make backup as simple, resource- and time-efficient as possible for our customers.”

Using AWS Snowball addresses common challenges with large-scale data transfers including high network costs, long transfer times, and security concerns. Transferring data with AWS Snowball is simple, fast, secure, and can be as little as one-fifth the cost of high-speed Internet.

CloudBerry Backup enables SMBs to backup critical files and folders to the cloud storage vendor of their choice. CloudBerry Backup now allows users to configure a backup plan that will upload data to the AWS Snowball appliance. Once the device is sent back to AWS and data is uploaded to Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), users will see the data online and be able to continue backup by uploading only increments (new and changed blocks of the data). Customers who leverage the CloudBerry Backup with AWS Snowball integration will continue to experience the CloudBerry Lab-specific benefits of user-controlled encryption, an easy-to-use GUI and flat pricing based on the number of issued licenses.

This integration will be available immediately starting with CloudBerry Backup Server Edition version 4.8. CloudBerry Backup Server Edition is available for a $119.99 one-time cost, including one year of free maintenance and upgrades. After the first year, customers can pay 20 percent of the initial license cost for each additional year of maintenance and upgrades.
