Blog post implies to CloudBerry Backup for Synology/QNAP 1.7 and later.
Each backup case demonstrates different requirements to the bandwidth. That's why we've added a new feature to CloudBerry Backup that helps to manage the network connection for your backups.
This feature will be of use to those who use Synology or QNAP and generic networks for locally stored backups or operates in a zone with a limited internet connection. Bandwith management will provide you with an ability to limit upload speed directly from the CloudBerry Backup.
How to Configure Bandwidth
- Click the Settings tab on the toolbar.
- Find Bandwidth section. You may set the following options:
- When using cloud storage - applies to the cloud backup destination;
- When using local storage - applies to the local network backup destination.
Set a specific connection speed in KByte/s or leave it unlimited and you're good to go.
Note: This limit is true for each backup plan.
Using uploading speed limits you will avoid the risk of the network overload by a backup traffic if you use the very same network for other tasks such as data protection or production needs. Try the new option right away and share your impression in the comment section.
