CloudBerry Lab Announces CloudBerry Backup 3.4 with FTP and SFTP Support

Run Regular Backups with Encryption and Compression to FTP or Secure FTP Server

Newport Beach, California, April 23, 2013
CloudBerry Lab, a provider of backup and management solutions for public cloud storage services, announces the immediate release of the Cloudberry Backup version 3.4, an application that automates encrypted and compressed data backup directly to public cloud storage such as Amazon S3, Amazon Glacier, Windows Azure, HP Cloud, Rackspace and OpenStack.

CloudBerry Backup 3.4 comes with FTP and Secure FTP servers available as the backup storage options. Now users can perform scheduled and real time backups to any FTP or Secure FTP server just like to any other cloud storage.

Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) also known as SSH File Transfer Protocol is an extension of the SSH-2 protocol that provides a secure file transfer capability. This protocol assumes that it is run over a secure channel, such as SSH, that the server has already authenticated the client and that the identity of the client user is available to the protocol. That makes data transfer over network secure and reliable.

In addition to FTP/SFTP support in CloudBerry Backup version 3.4 local backup functionality has been improved to perform much faster. Also users are enabled to specify multiple email addresses for the backup status notification messages, copy backup plans and protect backup client GUI from unauthorized access with master password.
